I was riding last week and my bike started rattling badly. I asssumed it was the cam chain buy the sound of it. I was a few blocks from home and limped back to the garage. I could not determine for sure that the stock adjuster had given up but it had to be the problem. Anyways this morning a box showed up form APE and probelm solved. I spent some serious coin on my engine and I am LUCKY I didn't screw anything up. I used to think, well the OEM part worked fine for 30 years why change it, it looks fine, it works fine now, ah I'll just put it back.... yeah big mistake.
Wish i had a dollar for everytime I have heard this same thing. Come to think of it, I guess I do

And nowhere even close in the AMOUNT of labor required to replace. About half hour for the tensioner (including removing the carbs to make it simpler to get to) In comparison to a bunch of hours to change the valves. But I guess while you're in there you could replace them with oversize stainless ones, plus don't forget the new valve springs and the new K410 cams. :woohoo:  Hay Jay you should stop selling those tensioners, they're loosing you money  Let's see, valve guides, new oversize valve seats. I finally replaced mine about two weeks ago after the chain got too loud for comfort. By the way the one for the ZX11 also fits the KZ1300.
