New cams was created by customkz1000
I'm rebuilding my Kz 1000 and I need to know how many horses I can get by putting 2x cams in and having the head shaved

u will have to be very careful with this task Luke.
Go not, where u have no knowledge.:P
if u mill the head the valves will get closer to the piston.
if u use larger cams to valves will get closer to the pistons, and valve to valve.
High compression pistons have the valve pockets pre cut to allow for these things, but u must always measure.
u should maintain a min clearance of .080" int., .060" ext. from piston to valve.
new pistons are the better path Luke. u will gain cc's as well.
No point putting a lot of money into upgrades without improving the breathing. Porting allows it to breath better.

Mill the head just enough to make it flat and no more. Those cams will make a noticable difference for you. Tune it right and you could pick up 8-10 Peak HP.

You can put them right in on stock srockets and they'll work just fine. You'l get more peak torque if you pull them to 106 centers but if you're not experienced at degreeing the cams, then just bolt them in with stock sprockets.

Grind the X's out of the valve cover to be safe. It's just good practice to get them out of there.
