Joe, check the tech forums for motor polishing as this has been hashed out a few times before in past, everything from light grinding thru papers, steel wools, jewelers sticks, and polishes like metal glo, maas, and many others,so help yourself and pick what you think will work for you.and oh yes Welcome to KZR nation regards Duke

Here is what I used to do mine. I soda blasted some parts and polished others. A couple of buffs on a drill, some polishing paste, and lots and lots of elbow grease.

Not real sure on the time. Soda blasting is one thing and polishing is another. I would say a few evenings for the polishing. It sure dont go fast but it is worth the effort. I was swapping frames so I would have multiple things going at once which helps from getting bored.

It is boring and tedious no doubt about it, but worth it when done

"It is boring and tedious no doubt about it, but worth it when done "... I'm with you there mi ~amigo... ;)

Anywhere between 10-20 hrs is ~ what I have in mine... All depends on if you just want it clean looking or you want shine to it.

Now that it has been buffed out, every couple weeks or so I use some hand rubbed McGuire to keep it clean...
