Engine Swap was created by wrangler615
Heys guys, need some knowledge. I am looking into replacing the engine in my bike (750-4, shaft drive), and wondered if any body knows what will interchange. My main concern would be getting a chain drive engine. Do any of you know if I can bolt the shaftie's primary drive to the chain drive engine? It is a completely seperate unit on my bike, save for having oiling passages. Anyone know what would be needed for this swap? Are the cases different? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I like your thinking Plummen! How would that be for a shaft drive power cruiser?!:woohoo: So that begs another question. I'm sure I could fit it in the frame with a little persuation, but would the shaft line up?

If it doesn't line up, it only means you need to use a bigger hammer
All joking aside, you may need to adapt the shaft swingarm from the engine donor bike as well. If it doesn't bolt right up, I can't imagine it would be that much fab work to squeeze it in B)

I would suspect that you should also acquire the shaft drive and the swing arm if you are upgrading engine sizes...but I have no direct experience with doing this.
