81' KZ1000LTD kickstarter?

Well, i already posted that i bought my first KZ1000 from a mechanic in moville IA. I was looking on ebay for parts and i found a kick starter shaft on ebay for an 1981 KZ1000P. Its the gear that goes into the motor for the kick starter. I was wondering, if I took that primary cover off of the right side of the motor (right side if you were looking down at the motor while sitting on the bike) is there a space in there for that gear inside there? i figured if i could fit the gear in there and get a cover with the hole in if for the kick starter lever, i would have a Kick starter:) That was my only mark against this bike is that it didn't have one of those. I'm gonna take a video of it today and put the link to it for youtube in the bike related section of the forum so you guys can see it. heres the link for the shaft i found on ebay so you guys know what im talking about

If I recall correctly, the '81 police model (C4) still used the older "KZ" engine, which has the kick starter.

Your '81 LTD has the newer "J" engine, which (as you know) has no kick starter. I'm fairly sure you cannot take a KZ engine kick starter and mount it to a "J" engine without some major modifications.
