A Grab Bag of 650/750/810 Questions was created by reborn650
Hey Gang- Working on my 650 810 project with Kz750 cams and I have a question about 750 intake valves in the 650 head.
I have been advised to cut 15 thou off the 750 valve's length to have them fit in the 650 properly. Does anyone know the exact length off the Kz 750/4 valve dimensions compared to the Kz 650/4 valve dimensions? Length is the comparitive number I am most concerned with. From my research, the 650's intake valve seat has enough material onced machined to handle the larger 750 valve face. I am sticking with the 650's exhaust valves.
Also, I have purchased a set of wiredgeorge carbs. They are the Mikunu 28's. What carb manifold/boots would be best for mounting these carbs to the 650 head?
Any advice on fuel petcock and fuel line choices for this motor upgrade. I suspect the 650 petcock might be a bottleneck point if it doesn't flow enough. I picked up a brand new petcock from Kawasaki last summer (mucho pesos!!!) and if I can use it-that would be preferred. Can the petcock be drilled out slightly to marginally increase flow?
Lastly, any guesses if my 650 throttle cables will do the job with the Mikuni 28's. I currently have Mikuni 24's on the bike.
Any advice would be appreciated.
