i'm in the process of installing my 900 motor in the frame and i swear the thing has grown about a hundred pounds. did it get heavier or am i just getting older and out of shape with this dam teaching job, i used to be able to throw these things around like nothing . i think it's time for me get out of this profession and back spinning wrenches again i liked it better and i was in shape . i'm getting soft and i don't like it.

It's not you. Everything IS heavier now days. Heck, I can barely carry a car battery without feeling like I'm going to pull my back out of joint. I suspect global warming is making gravity stonger, but I haven't yet found scienfitic proof of this theory. I'm planning on trying to get some government grant money to fund a private study on this theory. Ed:lol:

When I put the motor in my 900 a few years ago I was heavin and hoin but managed by myself without laying the frame on its side. What was easier was doing the 650 motor last month. The 650 is like a toy to the 900, from the weight of the motor to riding the shit out of them. Noticeable difference. Just take some Advil at night, you will need them, because I know you like the BIG motors

well i got it in and all bolted up got the pipe on ignition system and all i have to do now is put a front sprocket and chain back on and throw my battery back in dumped a fresh batch of 15-40 rottella with a few ounces of that lucas breakin lube and kicked it over a few times so every thing is rolling around well it seems to have a bit more compression amazing what new pistons & rings, fresh bore job and a fresh head can do amazing. and you know what the second time i lifted the motor it felt much lighter i think the first time i lifted it i was just being a bit of a pussy. i'm still to soft but thatis going to change right pronto. off to the weight room for me from now on. that's my new years resolution.

speaking of sprockets....took amy for a 100 miler today and noticed a pulsing feeling in the drive mode...pulled over and saw i had a tight spot in an old overdue chain...got to the gas up place and re-inspected...no c-lip on the master link.....wow!....so i did not wanna alarm her and said nothing....no play in the master link pins and it would not come apart with my thumb trying to undo the master...halfway home???turn around and go home or carefuly not punching it finish our little beach loop???
i metioned over lunch that we may pull over suddenly on the ride home and told her to stay aware and "don't get scared" if i had to pull to the side somehwere...but all was well and it stayed together and linked...got home carefuly ,pulled it in the shop and parked it...wonder how long the c-clips been missing....tight spot in the chain mighta stressed it enough to pop out and fly away....good thing it did not undo and eat my drive cover...or her leg....always the chance we take riding a bike aye....hope your motor goes smooth..i'm gonna do the whole sprocket and chain change out together..thankfuly i have a new set....i recently mhave started leaving the kickstarters on when changing motors ...works great for a handle to grip-lift....peace craig
