sorry about the disasterous pic posts. Im not a forum pro.
I so far I am replacing: cam chain, primary chain, all engine gaskets and seals, starter clutch rollers/springs, clutch discs, oil pump impeller and outer impeller. I will worry about the top end when I get there. I will mic the crankshaft journals tomorrow at work.

I am no expert; I am on my first bottom end rebuild myself. But those bearings and the crank look fine to me. If I think of it tonight I will snap a pic of the bearings I am replacing; the Babbitt surface looks like the surface of the moon there are so many craters!

run the edge of a penny across the journals on the crank, does it rub any copper off the penny? that one journal with dark center got my attention, but its hard telling from a picture
Still recovering, some days are better than others.

I dont see anything strange in the pics you posted, looks like normal wear to me, on both the crank and the bearings, the oil pump wasnt that bad either.
I am not seeing the "blue" you were talking about which I associated with lack of oil.
If it were me, I would LIGHTLY polish the crank, just to remove any possible high spot, dont get to wild with it.

I am not a big fan of resusing beaings, so I would replace them, measure all clearances and not with plasti gauge, clean everything real well and put it back together

That looks great, plastigauge your crank and rods and buy some bearings and your good to go. You can clean the crank journals and rods thats about it. Make sure and get new crank seals too, wouldn't want that to leak after all the work of putting it back together.
If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Only the slightest Hair width bit of copper came off in a few of the light scores. The dark part in the middle of the journal is on the mains and is from a annular grove in the bearing shell(where the oil comes in)

I guess they are more of a brown than a blue color but there are some blue hues that don't show up in the photos. For all I know they were that color when they were new. I took micrometer measurements today of all the crankshaft journals. No measurements were more than .0002" different. Will look for that bearing shell size data tonight. Don't see how I'm gonna measure the old shells accurately now that I pulled them out but I want to replace them any way. I really don't want to open this case again for a long time. The main reason I got in to it was to replace that noisy primary chain. Plus I just had to know what was in there. I have literally been through every nut and bolt on the entire bike except the engine itself.

how would you go about measuring them bsk650?
I agree, its silly not to replace the bearings, unless you don't have $200 for them of course.
