I have a 1325 10.5:1 kz with a big block. I am using a starter out of a 1980 Honda CB 900 custom. It works extremely well. The stock kaw starter with a good yusa micron battery would start the bike cold. When the bike was warmed up and hot it would not always start the bike. After I installed the honda starter it turned over faster than a stock 900 or 1000 hot or cold. I am also using one on a 1075 street bike. The funny thing is I got the staters off of ebay a lot cheaper than the stock Kaw ones for the bike on ebay and it is alot better starter. The starter cover bolts on the same way also.

The only difference is were the wire is for the starter. It is turned down slightly and the cable screws on. I had no clearance issues at all.
