Until what broke in half; the cylinder head or the tach cable guide?

If for a KZ900, kawasaki.com shows 2 different versions, at least one of which is supposedly an active part.

KZ900-B1 has the version listed at Z1E.

Am unaware of whether the versions are interchangeable.

It's part 19-1 that's supposedly still active.

From plonking around on kawasaki.com, it seems that active part 19-1 is perhaps a later version that superseded inactive part 19 (listed at Z1E).

Just guessing. ;)

There is one type that holds in with a little plate and screw and there is another type that has the plate as part of the guide, I think. The one that uses the little plate is the one available. If yours is the one-piece type you may need to get the plate as well.

Unscrew?? :S

Am thinking the guide (with o-ring) simply pushes into the head and then held in position by part 29.

Hi Mate, dont sweat it, anything can be fixed, if its the aluminum casting that holds the tacho cable security screw to the head you should be able to re-attach by two-part epoxy from any good auto parts store, i re-attached mine 3000 miles ago and its still perfect!

cheers,
Kt
