water problem was created by cobura
just gonna throw this question out, its kind of a weird problem i think.

Does anyone know how to get water out of the top-end of an engine that doesn't have a kick starter and starter motor is bad??? Carbs are taken off and i can visibly see water sitting in each of the 4 intakes.

Push it without plugs in a higher gear and look out..
or turn it over from the crank with a 17mm wrench...

WITH THE PLUGS REMOVED! If you can see water in all 4 intake ports, you've got to assume at least some of cylinders are full as well. It's going to run into any cylinder on an intake stroke. Water does not compress like air. If you force that motor to turn, the cylinder on the compression stroke will have no choice but to bend or break something expensive.
Actually I'd try suctioning as much water as possible with a piece of tubing down the plug hole before attempting to turn it over.
I've got to ask...How did this happen?

I'd use a vacuum that will extract water(shop vac is one) and then spray some PB Blaster where the water was to reduce corrosion.

If I were Me, i'd take the head right off. i gotta know too......how'd water get in there?
and you're sure its water, not gas....
i would also change the oil at least twice in close intervals once she is up and at-em again.

sorry i've been busy and couldn't reply sooner. The bike in question is my new suzuki katana 250. I bought it from my friend who owns a junkyard for about $100. I knew it wasn't working but thats all i knew. When i got it home I decided to tear into it, and the first thing that i noticed was that the airbox was almost full to the brim with dark brown water. I was shocked because most bikes i have worked on have a drain at the bottom of the airbox to prevent this from happening. I then realized that for some dumbass reason, suzuki thought it would be good to put a stopper in the bottom of the hose that drains the airbox. I pulled the stopper and about a half gallon of that brown juice came out. It was definitely just water and rust, not gas or oil. I then realized that the water had eaten away at the carburetor as well and that it was probably completely shot. I pulled the carburetor off and realized that the water had also made its way to the engine. I'm not sure if the water has been in there for a long time or if it just got in there since i started playing with it.

What is this "pb blast"?
