i need the little black pads that go on top of the cam chain idler on a 78 kz650, does anybody have some?

If you're talking about the larger pads that the 4 bolts go though to mount your top center idler, part # is 92075-289 www.z1enterprises.com/SearchResult.aspx?...e&KeyWords=92075-289
If you need the little rectangular pillows that go with the 2 lower idler sprockets, part # is 92075-232
www.z1enterprises.com/SearchResult.aspx?...e&KeyWords=92075-232
Get them at Z1 enterprises or any Kawasaki dealer. Common parts.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

thanks, its the 92075-232. i noticed it says 4 required. i only had two on the idler facing the front of the bike. this right or wrong?

There are two lower idlers, each one takes two so four total. Normally they are installed rubber up, but it makes little difference. They like to fall in the engine during assembly and disassembly obviously, so to hold them in place you can use a little superglue or the like to adhere them to the shaft. Early 650s just had a solid shaft on each idler. Somewhere late 77 they added the rubber as a kind of damper to quiet engine noise.

no i didnt. i just figured you got busy, its no problem at all. i was waiting for my head to get back from the machine shop and it got back way faster than i expected.
