A different part number does not necessarily mean the part will not work. Any change by Kawasaki will result in a new part number - even a cosmetic change. Since the Spectre is a gold/black bike as opposed to the Ltd being chrome, the discrepancy in the engine cases could be as simple as the color.

I'm not saying it'll work.

Just pointing out that a part number difference doesn't necessarily mean a part can't be used.

Kawasaki.com shows KZ750 cruiser models including chain-drive LTD plus shaft-drive LTD plus shaft-drive Spectre plus belt-drive LTD. Accordingly, cricketfire46's bike could be either shaft or chain or belt driven.

Imo the safest bet for match-up would be Spectre and LTD-shaft.

Am wondering if the existing cases are beyond hope of feasible repair.

Good Luck! :)

I bought a bike a while back with the two bottom holes that hold on the clutch cover compleatly stripped out. I split the cases, put them up on my bridgepot mill and drilled them out and put inserts in them. Worked out great.
I can do yours too if you are interested. I do machine work for a living. Let me know if I can help you out. :)

The Spectre cases should work fine. The differences are from the output shaft out. Otherwise it is a standard J case. The Spectre case a Goldish Titanium color while the LTD is silver. That should be the only diference, and the serial #.

My LTD was a chain drive, and the spectre was a shaft, we know this. After looking on the kawasaki factory website, all the output bearings matchup. I will be using all of my internal parts so my mechanic thinks I will not have a problem. If anyone knows different please let me know. From what the site said and the mechanic said these should matchup other than colors. Again any info would be appreciated, but for the price I just cant pass this up to have a case that I dont have to spend an arm and a leg to get machined out.
