My buddy just went from stock 903 to 1015 with stock liners and a good used set of KZ1000 stock pistons... total cost - bore and hone including the pistons was $240. I think that's a pretty decent price.
Very decent, provided it passes a leakdown test and runs strong without any unusual noise or oil leaks.

if youre going to the trouble of building an engine id suggest going through the bottem end at the same time ,could save lots of headaches having to split the cases later

We knew the guy selling them and the previous owner, otherwise we would have not gone the used route.
Breathed new life into a tired motor - cylinder PSI and leak down are now great.
