I *believe* you need Kz1000 jugs or a resleeve to go 1075cc. But I'll let others correct me....

Yes, you'll need a 1015 block to overbore to 1075 cc. 1015 is max overbore in stock 903 cc .sleeves.

if your going thru all the trouble of sleeving a block you won't be limited to only a 1075 you could always make the step up to a 1197 kit and still use the stock block for the same kind of price.

What does it run to do a re-sleeve typically? I found a set of the 1015cc jugs for a variety of other reasons, but I was curious what the cost was to have this done.

I know, I know, the cost of the sleeve is the least of it....then there's porting, valves, cams, carbs, exhaust, suspension, brakes, tires, rear sets, etc.... but I was just curious.

You will also have to machine out your crank cases to take the new block and sleeves. This will require complete engine disassembly.

to do everything on your list, you will be into a couple-few thousand dollars. To just bore and piston your stock block will be around $750+/- to re-sleeve would be another $500

If you just want to stay with a 1015 you can get away a bit cheaper. I am quite sure that someone here might have a set of pistons that they took out of their pre 1981 KZ1000 that they will let you have very cheap. All you would do is get new rings for about $80 and have the cylinders bored by Joe Hooper at Pitstop Performance in Orlando. He charges $100 plus postage. joehooper@cfl.rr.com 407-679-9116. I have had him do a bunch of stuff for me and he is the cheapest and very good. Or you can buy a set of MTC 10.5:1 pistons from him. He will give you the best price possible on them.

What I would do if I was you is to take that 1015 jug that you bought, and after you remove the top end and old pistons from your engine, see if it fits into your crankcase. Some will and some wont. If it fits than you can have that one bored to a 1075. If you already have that jug than the price would be the same.

and a pleasure to deal with.....there are a lot of good

I sure do like hearing the positive comments about Joe Hooper. He's rebuilding and porting my head right now. I mailed off my cylinder to him this morning to be bored for the 1075 kit.

FYI, he has recently increased the price of a bore and hone to $124. Still way cheaper than anyone else. I checked locally and the cheapest was $200. Joe also sets the end gap on the rings and installs them on the pistons.

I can't wait to get my parts back!
