Greetings,
Any issues with swapping late '70s and early '80s engines into a 1976 frame? Thanks

Would that also include a 1982 chain drive?

Sorry for the incomplete question. Frame is a '76 KZ900.
I have '79 and '82 KZ1000 engines that I'm looking to transplant into that frame.

I think that the '79 would work. Not sure about the '82. I'm not familiar with the 998cc engines.

The "J" engine is a different engine and is not a direct drop in. You would have to do some mods. The MKII engine (79-80) would be a direct drop in.

Thanks for the replies. Any idea of the mods required to fit the J motor to the '76 frame? I'm a fair wrencher, but my fabricating/welding skills are weak.
