Shouldn't the 1000 be lighter than the 900 with all that extra metal removed?

I'll resurrect my ancient thread since I finally got my motor back together today. I chucked it on the old bathroom scale and the final tally is about 205 lbs. It's hard to be exact since the thing wouldn't balance nicely on the scale, so I had to support it on one side with my hand. The scale actually read 200 lbs, but I'm sure that I was taking a small amount of weight with my hand. Some contributing factors to my final weight are that I switched to a welded KZ900 crank. Which, BTW is about 3.5 lbs lighter than the KZ1000 crank. I also did have the carbs, air filters (pods,) and the starter in place. I did not have the complete oil fill in at the time, so this could be considered a "dry" weight.

Now that is settled lets all have a strawberry margarita, its Saturday night.

I have access to a certified, calibrated scale with an 18" square pad. It's accurate to .001 lbs up to 300 lbs. Once I get my 1000 engine together I'll weigh it and post it here.

Would this be the nano-precision scale?

i dont think youll have to worry too much about weight on your bike.

Damn theives robbing half of my swingarm! Stole some of my frame bits too....what would anyone do with only half a swingarm anyway???

It must have been an Italian thief. They only need half a swingarm.
