KZ1000 engine weight was created by testarossa
Anyone know off the top of their head approximately what an assembled KZ1000 engine and trans weighs? Mine is in peices and I'm trying to decide on where to place the upper mount for my mono-shock. I need to approximate the weight to get the ride height where I want it.

I was just gonna guess about two hundred, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has more accurate data. I guess I could bust out the old bathroom scale and weigh the individual parts. That sounds like a lot of trouble, but I would like to get the ride height correct the first time. I hate it when you have to cut apart welded pieces.

I have a complete motor but my bathroom scale is glass. Let me think if I could get it weighed for you. I am scared of a shard of glass ruining my day.

175 and change is my fearless forecast,i can pick one up and carry a short distance so i dont think its much more than that.for setting up suspension points id base it more on the ride height your after than weight, the weight can be compensated for with spring adjustments. B)

Please, no-one break their bathroom scale on my behalf. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure to get me close. I should have thought of this before I stripped my motor, but too little too late. Plummen, you're right about the adjustments. That's one thing that I like about the mono-shock setup. You can change out the dogbones and come up with the ride height that you like without affecting the sag. This poor boy just don't wanna buy anything else right now.
