Engine Serial # ?

Picked up a set of virgin MKll cases over the weekend with an engine serial # I've never seen before. KZT00GE12345 leads me to believe they are out of a 1980 G model,the fuel injected custom. Correct? or could they also be shaft drive? The cases have the J model style 'mission cover not Z1/KZ.

That case is in fact for the 1000G Classic. and is a MKII case. That bike was only available here in the US and used the same injection system as the H model did in Europe and Australia. The G model was built in extremely limited quantities. Most likely the rarest of all the 1000cc bikes.

Thanks, I knew they were MKll cases or I would not have bought them but wasn't sure about which model they came from. Only 2nd. set I've had with the J model sprocket cover but never paid any attention to the serial #'s before.The G model Custom may have been available in Canada as well,I've definitely seen a few up here.

Yep...the G model was only released in North America (USA and Canada)...the rest of the planet got the H model.

Which sucks, because I would have bought a H in a second, but I cared less for the G.
