I Need Pics of Your 650 Kickstarter

You're right, sorry about that. Early KZ650 used the 13064-1003 with the screw, later they switched to 13064-1005 that was the newer design without the screw on the side. 13064-1003 was replaced with the 1005 a long time ago.
I see my 77B1s and B2 used the 1003, where the later B2A had the 1005. Looks like late 78 production was the update.
Here's a B2A with the 1005 if you can see it clear enough to help.

I certainly agree; I wouldn't use that kicker to defend myself against a charging bear. I just wanted to post a picture of the screwless type and that's all I could find.

Well I did some more digging through my parts boxes and found this; It's missing the clip & washer, ball bearing & spring and mounting bolt. Plus it is shorter than a '78's as seen in the last pic:







Strange as I'm sure I had a few kick starters, and it seems I some how have collected 4 rear brake pedals or their reproducing on their own. Don't keep two in the same box!

Edit; looking at the C3 pic I put up above, this can't be the same kicker as the one above goes higher into the airbox area.
This one does not have the set screw on the side though.
