For the record, Z's don't have a primary chain. The chain you are referring to is the cam chain.
Err now I'm really confused.. as I'm still trying to completely figure out what model exact I have..
Well from what I can tell...

I'm not sure what I have, but the Engine number starts KZ750E .. E1,2,3 I don't know but assume they have the same gaskets?..
Also does anyone know where if this might be the correct Primary chain still trying to find a Secondary Gear as the chain assumable has been slipping for quite some time and buggered everything...

I've also asked this to the okes selling, but waiting response..
I started Yesterday and this is how far I got - removed Tank, covers, Airbox, Carbs, Rear Wheel, and almost ready to pull motor:

Finally got the motor out!
The motor is on a table - Exhaust port facing down. (I see on pictures that some of the okes do it the other way around, must this be like this?)
I've opened up the sump - I've checked the primary chain - it has a LOT of play laying down like this. Now this is where my questions come in - how much play is in "service specs" it currently has about more than 3cm play (1.18 inches)..
How do I check the correct "play" on the chain?
It is dark here in SA now, I will take pictures when the sun is out again and upload.
Thanks in advance,
Zollie

PS
Do you have a Repair Manual? This is a very good investment.
