- I don't wan't a pickle, I just want to ride my...
As per my "intro" thread ( kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&catid=10&id=344680 ) I bought a Z750, [Engine number starts: KZ750ee..] about a month ago.
She is in real bad shape.. If I pull away hard in First it makes a quite worrying "cluck cluck" noise.. Checked sprockets just in case - seems alright, the noise is coming from the motor, definitely. Not sure if it is the gearbox, selector or something else.
I'm going to open her up, and I'm desperately looking for an Service manual, *cough* cough..if someone might help it would be much appreciated!
Thanks and regards,
Zollie

Also a compression check should be done.
at the very least this should give you a good picture of your engine and help determine any issues that may pop up

I would not be surprised if the HYVO primary chain and or the Cam chain are slapping due to un-even firing again due to poor tuning.
The good news is that this is mostly work and not necessarily a parts and money issue... yet. I eliminated this symptom on my bike with very careful attention to tuning.
Yes you very, very much need a FSM.
Best of success,
Bill

I probably should've been a bit more descriptive
I bought the bike with this problem - my other bike blew Rectifier and needed some 2 wheels desperately, hehe.. And as the 750 two stroker features in the Joe Barr Comics (which I'm a huge fan of) I couldn't resist this Z :silly:
It is definitely a mechanical noise, something slipping / gear box stuffed. I had an almost similar noise on previous bike and ended up replacing a few gears. Had it at an shop and also told me that it is probrably the primary chain, but if this slips, wouldn't it cause serious problems to the motor/valves or somehitng??
I'm desperately trying to locate an manual if someone might assist..
Also is there a "map" to link VIN / Enginge num to model number?
Thanks again,
Zollie

For the record, Z's don't have a primary chain. The chain you are referring to is the cam chain.
 Mine does... HYVO connecting Crank Shaft to Transmission.
But maybe it's just mine.

What?? Please see part #13122-007. Without a primary chain the bike isn;t moving.
