Kick starter doesn't always engage? was created by jimmyfinski
Hi,

My first kick on the kick start always grabs, but subsequent kicks do not turn the crank. After a few minutes of rest I am able to try again, but only once or twice. I AM in frigid Wisconsin, so is this just a temperature issue? The starter has been disconnected, and I'm trying to get this running before it gets warm so I can ride.

This is on what I was told was an '82 KZ750 twin. After replacing the ignition coil, point and condensor, and setting the timing, I quickly learning this is not an '82, but I have no idea what year it is. It has been heavily modified as well.

Thanks,
Jim

Forgive what may be a stupid question, but you're not pulling in the clutch when you kick it over - are you? Ed
