Tore my motor apart was created by fordtruck
I finally bit the bullet and tore my motor apart Saturday in anticipation of my 1075 build up. I was pleasantly surprised that no bolts broke. I also had no trouble getting the cylinder off of the case.

All of the rubber cam chain rollers and pads are toast. The motor has 38,000 miles on it, so I kinda expected that. The cam chain sprockets look good.

Now I just need my tax return so I can start ordering parts and send my head off.

Actually, that should give you a modicum of self-confidence. If you have the manual, then all should re-assemble just fine. Big Kwack motors are a marvel of simplicity and with a bit of experience and the right tools, most jobs can be handled by almost any Kawasaki enthusiast :)

I'll try and post a couple pics that I took while tearing the motor apart.
