will kz1000 police exhaust fit kz1000

Will a kawasaki police exhaust system bolt right on to a 1977 KZ1000? It is a 2 into one like the stock originals.

It should bolt up with no problem, but measure the exhaust centers to be sure. Don't forget new exhaust gaskets(I think Z1 enterprises sells Kawasaki and the thicker Suzuki gaskets).

Don't the 1000P's mufflers go straight back lower to clear the side trunks as opposed to the slightly upswept KZ1000 mufflers?

Yes they are,The KZ1000st uses the same exhaust.

Trying to find an alternative to an expensive replacement exhaust.

i was noticing the mufflers on older Kawa police bikes. hoping that they would work and look right. Although hearing that they sit lower to accommodate police side cases, may not look right.

Looking at Bikebandit. They show that i can still get the original replacement exhaust for my 1977 kz1000. But there seems to be alot of bits and pieces. it will be expensive.

Also noticed z power online (located in Australia) and they offer a fine replacement exhaust, (pricey with shipping). Anyone try these? they are stock configured two into One on either side.
