Flex-hone size? was created by KZ1100 Bully
Hi, I bought a set of rings and now need to hone the cylinders. Not sure what size flex hone to buy. Anybody know what size and grit to use on a 1983 kz1100 D2 Spectre?
Thanks

Wiseco recommends a 280 grit finish hone.

I reccomend not useing a flex hone.If you use an inexpensive ajustable hone you can get at the auto parts store you will get a better ring seal than with a flex hone. The cylinder walls will be straighter. You will be able to see your high and low spots during the maching process.

Ok thanks guys. I will get the adjustable one.
Do you go up and down in a pretty fast motion for about 7 seconds than reverse the drill and do it again for another 7 seconds.
Motor oil be okay to lube?
