So I went back out to the shop and my buddy had an engine guy out looking at a car of his and he pointed out that I still have the factory cross hatch marks in there. With that being said I do need all new valves and a head job. That kinda sucks but it will be worth it. I'm hoping this bike will last me years.

I can honestly say I was really worried about what I would find when I opened her up but everything is looking great.

"factory cross hatch marks in there"... there being where, in the cylinders?

If so, that's a good thing for that's pretty much informing you it hasn't sheared, smoothed or glazed the cylinder walls.

As for the head/valve job... Larry C is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned... The man just plainly knows his shit and does phenomenal work! He's a straight shooter... ;)

Since your on a budget, Pit Stop performance offers valve jobs but I HAVE NO IDEA what kind of work they do.... Still may be over your $$$ limit but that's up to you.... $312 including labor, guides & seals.

SOrry about being unclear. The cross hatch marks are still on the cylinder walls. They look immaculate the pistons them selves are coated in carbon but the walls. I'm going to try to get some good pictures of it sometime this week.

I'm still trying to figure out what I can do in town for the valve job. I really would prefer not to ship it out. The guy who was checking out the motor knows a guy who might have a guy who can give me a good deal on on the work.

OMR thanks for the links but I believe that at the moment that might be out of my price range. But hey if its the cheapest I'll have it done.
