Replacement Oil Filter Bolt ? was created by AzKZ650
Hi Guys,
I just changed the oil on my 78' KZ650 today and the bolt that holds the oil filter/plate on was really chewed up to begin with, then I went and pounded a socket onto it, got it off but I really want to replace the bolt, it is beyond done.
I found this part at Z1 (MC864-1277) but it just shows kz400/440's in the list, would this work on a 650 ?
I've seen a few used ones on ebay, but I would really prefer using a new part, just makes life easier down the road.
Thanks in advance,
-Brian

Im not sure if that will fit the 650, but you could contact Jeff directly and ask, he also doesnt always have some parts on his site(he has so many). So he may have exactly what you need if the 400/440 one doesnt fit. Another trick is to use a flat file and file each side of the bolt head down to fit the next size smaller socket.

Here's where I just bought one 2 weeks ago for my '77 KZ650C1. The part I received is an original, NOS part. This guy shipped it VERY fast. Ed

It will work - I just did the same lookup. Unfortunately, Emgo lists a very small number of bikes of the packaging and confuses it by just showing the Honda part number (this part also fits a bunch of Hondas).
