Thanks for your time Larry, have been cruising your site and learning, will write you direct. DO YOU have a recommended head porter down in Australia? Where should I go for CRS29s in the U.S?

Regards,
Kt

THANKYOU so much for your replies guys, i really appreciate it. I am on a budget, arent we all, i may have to stick to colleting the parts and save some more $$$, i would really like the porting as well so will just have to wait i guess. I would like to send the port work to Larry Cavanagh but am a bit nervous sending a head all the way from Australia, might look into it though or Larry may know someone he would recommend down here, I understand he sells equipment to Australian businesses.

I apologize on the "bodgy" photo, i could not for some reason upload the picture of my bike and i wanted a pic of a similar one so grabbed one from somewhere, will have to try again.

Kt.

I'll be shipping and entire bike over to Sydney in a few months.

What part of Oz are you in? My wife's brother lives in Woombye Queensland. I've been around WA a bit myself, from Perth, down the coast to Albany, then up through the sheep country back to Perth.

Had a bit of a chat with this resident...

Good to hear ! Its a wonder he let you get that close for the picture, they are very savage!
I am about 35 miles west of Sydney at the base of the mountains, will you be coming for a ride on the bike you are shipping then???

I am looking into whether feasible to ship a head over to you.

Sudco is the main supplier of Keihin carbs here. Their jetting is always on the rich side. That's why I listed suggested jetting.

I obtained my 29 Cr's from Dynoman....

Buzz over there is a straight up guy, he spent about an hour with me on the phone the first time asking me pretty much the same questions Larry had regarding what I had in mind in my build.... Basically seeing if I was just blowing smoke out my ass or not...

Anyhoot, turned out giving me ~ $100 off since I had bought my cams and kerker from them... The jetts I get for half the price of Sudcos...

Larry is 100% correct in the pre-jets... They will be on the rich side so pre order 1-2 sizes for leaner operations...

Here in Az, dropped 2 sizes on the mains and slow jets (pilots) and one clip position change 4 to 3 to lean them babies out.... Same as you, hotter than hell here in summers.... Fairly close elevations I would think pending your area, maybe not...

I had roughly the same #s on my 78 Z1R with Yoshi Bonneville cams, Yoshi series 2 pipe RC Engineering 1105 kit and stock 28s. 10.82 @ 132mph

Good MPH

Wrong cams for the drag strip though.

Here's my selection for your bike. It's about strong power in the RPM range you ride most with plenty left over to scare yourself with if you want to.

If you're going to have the head off and apart, skip the 118 grind and get the 483 grind instead. You'll have to clearance the tappet bores a little and remove the X's from the valve cover. Get springs too.

A lot of BS34 fans around this place but I'm not one of them .

Good carbs ain't cheap and cheap carbs generally aren't good.....

Save some money and get a rack of Kehin CRS29 with the following jetting. Just what is the comparison between the 2 like in hp?

120 Main Jets [also get some 115's]
55 Slow Jets
35 Starter Jets
YY7 Needles
