Hi Everybody,

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with these cams? Made in USA is stamped on them by the cam gear mounts. Part number on edge of cam 45 47015 and 123 7065. Looks to be 405 lift.

I would say there's a good chance they are Megacycle 470-15 Grind and 470-65 Grinds.

That would make sense also. Look at the exhaust cam. Definitely less duration than the intake.

065 cam - .438/258@.040" [intake]may possibley have 1.090" base circle.

015 cam - .410/250@.040" [exhaust]

Not drop in cams. Make a nice set of cams for 1197cc motor for sure.

Too much for anything under 1075cc for street use IMO.

That exhaust cam would also help out if you have over size intake valves. TDC Overlap lift & duration on 015 cam gets the exhaust out of the way.

Every cam grinder in the business could learn from Megacycles application chart. It is THE BEST chart I've ever seen for making grind selections.

These were "supposedly" measured with a micrometer at 405 lift. I need cams for my rebuild but my pistons are only 1015 wiseco 10:25 to 1. Any suggestions??

Brad[/quote It's likely there are .407 lift. If they are it's old norris cams or megacycle's (who bought them.) It's easy to be off a couple thou with a digital mic. If they are .407 then they spec out to 280deg.@ .020 lift and lobe centers are 110deg. Running clearance is .006. They have great torque and good duration for a 1015cc. I have these in my bike and the first time I mic'd them I came up with .405 by accident. Mine say kh-259 on them wich may be a core number. The lobe your cams look identical as far as ramp profile and width. Could almost swear i'm looking mine.

I have some in my bike that measured .405 but are really .407. Megacycle says they are old norris cams and sent me a cam card 280deg@.020 .407lift. valve lash .006. If they are the same cams and they look just like mine, they are great torque and power band for my 1015cc. Lobe centers are 110 110. Megacycle bought norris long ago. It's easy to be off a couple thou with a digital mic, say if it's not zero'd or you dont't place it properly on the base circle and nose of the cam.

Norris never had numbers like that. I even went thru Denco, old Vance & Hines, old Yosh, no numbers close to those.

The 65 grind duration is still reasonable enough for a 1015 motor but be a little peaky for the powerband if the Intake turns out to be the 65 grind Megacycle.

If your head is flowing mid 80's at 10" and you have some good carbs, you'll have a hot little 1015 motor to run around with.;)

Look close at the photos, you can see the cams are not the same so that .405 measurement for lift is probably not accurate.

If the price doesn't get bumped up, they're worth snagging..
