The engine rebuild continues.

Turns out the previous owner only installed ONE Andrews 2x cam, and it is on the intake.

If one would run two different cams, where should the bigger one go?

Other options:

1: Does anyone have just one andrews 2x cam to sell?

2: Pair Web Cams - 119 (.384 lift, short duration), 118 (.365), 110(.395)

3: Pair APE Cams - K410 (.410)

4: Pair Pitstop Performance Cams - PSP1 (copy of Andrews 3x, .418)

5: Pair Cam Motion Cams - Z1 (.400)

6: other used camshaft or mix-n-match with other years/models using cam gears to adapt to number of crank cam chain teeth

Plan on doing porting to some specs I got from larrycavan.

APE valve springs
1075 10.25:1

I will clearance the head If I need to, I have the whole thing apart at the shop.

Bike has ~30k on the bottom end and the 1075 kit is about 5k miles old.

Installing new kibblewhite valves, guides, and titanium retainers.

I want to keep the shim on top setup.

Running Mikuni 34mm RS flatslides.

I can also flycut the pistons for clearance if needed, but I'd rather not because of the extra expense, but really, whatever it takes. I don't like to take shortcuts with my bikes.

id say nothing bigger than .385-.395 than should give you a pretty spunky motor and still keep stock buckets/shims.im not really happy with the carbs, but since ya got em run em! B) dont forget to check cam chain and parts while youre in there B)

New camchain, of course.

Sending a spare low-mile crank out to APE for truing-welding.

Full reseal and inspection (replacement?) of all transmission parts.

APE studs top and bottom.

I want to build this bottom end right and then gradually improve the top end until I can't ride it on the street anymore. :P

Then I get to buy another bike!

Plan to run NOS at the strip eventually. I like that new manifold APE has - looks great!

just send your transmission out to get it undercut i haven't seen to many that weren't repairable. and i have a stage 1 yosh intake cam and a stock exhaust cam in one of my motors and it works quite well. also my big drag bike has .460 lift intake cam and .435 exhaust cam works pretty good as well got a 165 horse out of that one according to the last dyno sheet.

From all my research on here running different sized cams is alright. I'm actually glad you posted that you only have a 2X for the intake because I recently bought a pretty big parts lot and in going thru it all I found was a 2X intake cam. I was going to just shelf it until I could track down a 2X exhaust cam but you got me thinking of just dropping it my 900 just for shits and giggles.
