So, if a guy wanted to go to 810 was created by l0g1c
I'm thinking of boring my 750 out to 810 and putting in the Wiseco kit over the winter. I've spent a few hours over the last couple weeks doing research here, but I'm still having trouble prioritizing other mods that would compliment the rebuild.

Head: Should I start looking for a GPZ head, or can I work with what I have? Should I go with a mild p&p, or concentrate on bigger valves? Both?

Carbs: Will my stock Keihin's be up to the task, or should I start tracking down BS34's? 29mm smoothies if I win the lottery? Any other carb suggestions?

Cams: Probably my weakest area of knowledge. I know I don't want anything too aggressive for the street. Probably something that will still give me power as low as 5k. Stock may even work here.

Crank: Welded? Yea or Nay?

I'm wanting to get some gains without affecting rideability too much, since this is my daily driver. I don't care that I'll never get my money back out of it, or that I could just put the money into a newer, faster motorcycle. I want a project.

The reason I just don't do all of the above all at once is because I am on a fairly tight budget. If at all possible, I'd like to do this in stages. I just don't want to get it all together, just to tear it back down once I get the money for something. Especially since I seem to snap a bolt every time I work on the damned thing.

Thanks, fellas.

The 810 kit yes will give you more power by simple cubic inches, compression ratio is another item, street gas or not, heating problems also can be a issue.
The head cams and carbs all need to be thought of as one working component.
If the head doesnt flow enough, all the cam and carb work is for not, same holds true if you dont go big enough on either of the components.
You may want to call ape jay and prob Larry since they prob have the most knowledge in performance work.

The more leg work you do now to get eveything to match the better the end result will be

there is a set of 29 smoothies in the classified section right now for a decent price they would be great for your combo. also don't worry about getting your crank welded you crank is a one piece unit no welding required. and if you want to go quick all i can say is head work ,headwork and more head work and a nasty set of cam's

as timebomb mentioned, i wouldnt even worry about splitting your cases, as you have a solid crank instead of "press-together" like the big z's. You will really like the 810 motor even if you dont go huge on headwork. I am using gpz cams and head with very mild porting and the stock cams that came on my 82 kz750e, and their is a huge difference over the stock 750 motor. It remains very streetable, i run 87 octan unleaded, and ride it hard every day with no overheating or streetability issues. I love it, you wont be dissapointed
