If it's a Z1/KZ900/1000/1100, it has a plug on the right side of the crankcase, at about the 11 o'clock position from the points cover. Your oil gauge can be plumbed in there. It's a metric thread, but I discovered that a 1/4" NPT pipe bushing will screw into the threads. I used red loctite to seal it instead of teflon or thread sealant, because I didn't want it to vibrate out.
If you have an oil cooler that uses connections at the oil block underneath the carbs, it can also be Tee'd off of your oil cooler line.
I used a 30psi plain industrial gauge with a bottom pipe thread connection. The oil pressure on mine can approach 20psi when cold and revving the engine, so I didn't want to use a gauge with a lower scale than that.

It should go into a T fitting installed where the oil pressure sending unit is formerly screwed into the engine. That is the main pressure point off the pump. Then screw the sender into the other side of the T.I got one of those oil gauges with my bike,it needs the fitting which i figured i can grab at the hardware store. My question is do i just take that bolt out of the engine and screw the fitting in then the gauge?
