Heeelllp! I got a new bottom end, well rebuilt that is 900 block bored to 1015 new wiseco pistons, new rings, hand lapped all the vavles, checked for leak down, everything seems fine. i go to set the cams put my pistons on 1, 4, t mark set exaust cam on the little arrow head mark beside the teeth level with head boss mark off 28 pin. 60psi on 1 cylinder 120 on the next, 120 on the next and 180 on 4. when you hold your finger over no,1 its like it blows it out the exaust side, makes a whooshing sound. i had a one piece
head gasket that wiseco sent me. Im thinking this may
be the trouble,do have two piece with o ring.Has any body had head gasket trouble before. or any ideas ?
i dont think i broke any rings but getting ready to tear her down again.

I have no specific knowledge of one piece gaskets.
I can't imagine needing the O-ring if the one piece
gasket is sealing the mating surfaces around the chain
tunnel. That's all the O-ring is for. Otherwise oil
would leak out between the head and the block.

If you didn't leak air before putting the camshafts
back in and you are leaking air now then I would strongly
suspect that a valve is not seating. Put the air to number
one and listen for the leak.

lemo32, you don't use the o-ring that goes around the center of the cylinders for the camchain if you switched to the one piece headgasket. Most guys fill the recess for the o-ring with high temp rtv or something similiar. There are a few threads here that talk about it. I put a Wiseco 1075 kit on my 1000 and it came with a Cometic 1 piece gasket. I used high temp rtv on mine.
