KZ1000 NEW ENGÄ°NE SMOKES

hi, everyone ı have 1983kz1000j.ı rebuilt engine.clearance from clymer repair book. oversize pistons,new rings, valve jobs, valve seals. but engine smokes and oils first and second cylinders. what ı did wrong? ı just did not change valve guides thats why?but new valve seals? ı did not understand this problem. SOMEBODY HELP ME.......

Sounds like the oil ring expanders are overlapped. Did they have the wires running thru them?

does it smoke all the time if it does you may have the scraper rings in upside down also what where your ring end gaps when installed in the cylinder also highly likely what jay has mention could have also happened if it was valve guide related it would smoke abit on start up after sitting for awhile if it is ring related it will smoke alot all the time.

Check compression. If it's normal or higher than normal, there's a good chance it's the oil ring expaner overlapped.

Oil blowing out the pipe is a pretty good indicator.

I'd say it was the oil rings, but also could be a head gasket problem. Have a leakdown test done on it and if those 2 cylinders are low, it is possible the head gasket is leaking from an oil gallery.

I had the same problem myself once...the lower oil ring hooked on the lower taper (or lack there of..1103 in stock jugs) and bent the oil ring down along the piston skirt. Only ran the motor for 10 miles and it put a small grove in the jug, I smoothed it out with very fine sandpaper and put in new rings...more carefully this time and all was fine!

Thanks everyone, ı solved the problem.ı did everything right,oil expender rings little bit broken by somebody. Some body what ı did he makes my kz1000 to upset it. and he is not smart he put it on lots of fingerprints and sone little crash signs. ı changed ring set. and he made my clutch upset,damaged it. thats it.ı am just smiling now,what a stupid peopels at my city.

I don't get it, somebody sabotaged your engine?? You caught them by fingerprints?? Where do you live? What happened to them?

Hi,everyone, ı am living in Turkey in ANKARA which is the most stupid city.
THEY saboteded my kz 1000 engine,now thy are doing other bad things to me.they whelling their cars on me, making lots of things.
I rememebered thaT THEY HÄ°T ME THEÄ°R CAR WHEN I HADN'T BEEN Ä°N USA.
