1981 KZ 1100 oil seal right side was created by davej6997
I need to replace the oil seal right behind the right side cover. I see that you need to remove the ignition system and then the seal. What i am not sure of is do you just pull out the seal or do you remove the inner cover and then replace the seal. I hope this makes since. Any help would be great. Thanks

When I replaced a leaky seal on my old 77 Kz1000 I did what you said; removed the ignition point breaker plate, the cover behind it, and then use a block of wood/pvc pipe to drive out the bad seal.
Put a light film of oil on the new seal on the outside and where it will rub against the shaft on the inside.
Start the new seal straight, otherwise a new leaker may result.
