Fuel Pump On Cop Bike was created by Ruff
Hello KZRiders,
I recently replaced a faulty Fuel Pump on my Yamaha XJ600P (another Cop Bike) with the following electrical unit.
I was contemplating installing a similar device on my KZ1000P14.
Any thoughts on this endeavor will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ruff

I am confused why you'd install a fuel pump on a bike (KZ) that doesn't use one?

Yep, the carbs are not going to like the extra pushing...

I was thinking pump might make fuel delivery more efficient. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

There was a TV commercial with the punch line,"Don't mess with Mother nature".

You can get small pumps that are rated for carb setups. That is, they have a low pressure (about 2-4 psi). The old school draw-through turbo setups use them and guys who converted to different carb setups. Whether or not you'll notice a big difference, I don't know for sure.
I guess if you have fuel startvation issues and checked te usual suspects like: tank vent, flow through your original petcock etc. Then the pump may provide some relief.
Like the previous posters mentioned, make sure your needles and seats are in good nick, or they'll overflow and gas will end up in the wrong places....
If it works, let me know.

I think I'll hold up on installing the pump. I'll save that experiment for another KZ. All your comments were enlightening and appreciated.
