Engine running great - Finally!! was created by IowaKZ
I have posted a couple of times asking for help on my engine. I had replaced the valve seals and then had a hard time getting it to run again.
First it was the timing, then it was intake boots. During all of the fun, I dropped a part down into the oil pan and stripped out a cam cap hole.
Yesterday I resealed the intake boots one last time and put it back together.
Today I started it up and then set idle. Then my wife comes out and asks when I am taking her for a ride. So we suited up and took off. I had to fill up with gas and we took off up the river.
It was sunny and 69 F out. Fluffy Simpsons clouds, wife on the back, traffic was light, and the bike was running like a top.
I rode 2 up at 65 mph for about 10 miles, and the bike didn't miss a beat. Could have probably gone faster, but there was no point. Just enjoyed the ride.
my only regret, I didn't take a camera along
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone along the way who gave me advice and encouragement.

That's great. I rode Gringo's classic in Ohio and it was a pleasure to ride.
I won't let my son ride with me until i give the bike a good shake down ride. Roy
