I can get a free spectre 750 engine with few miles(shaft drive but otherwise same as GPZ).
Would it be worth the trouble to drop the crank from the spectre into a 78 KZ lower and use the Spectres upper casing to accomodate 750 jugs for an 810 build?
I figure it would be cheaper to keep use the upper casing from the spectre than have the KZ bored over, plus the crank uses a modern cam chain (I believe), has GPZ oil holes to oil the pistons, and better rods. Will it fit the journals of the KZ 650. Just replace the chain and drop in? I really want to keep the kick start, hence not just buying a newer engine.

Vi
no because the two case halves are machined as a pair for all the shafts.
