will i do major damage if i top up synthetic oil with regular? i'm talking about an ounce or two.

Why worry over an ounce or two? Actually, I don't mean to worry about mixing two oils, that's not the point; but rather why worry that your oil is low two ounces....two is nothing...keep riding.

its my understanding that you dont want to mix syn with dino based oils. something to do with acids formed by the dino oils.

I have it on good authority it could end the world as we know it. Remember the Star Trek thing about what happens if matter and anti-matter combine? Thank God you didn't do it yet and asked first...:laugh: It won't hurt a thing, they sell synthetic blend which is a 30-70 mix of syn and dino oil. You can mix it in any ratio you want.
