I have a stripped exhaust stud that needs to be replaced. I ordered a new one from Z1 but I can't get the old one out. Any tips? Its too stripped to double nut and torque off and I don't have a welder to tac a nut on. Any other tips?

Can you get visegrips on it? Do you have a propane torch.I would apply some heat to the bolt. Steel heats differently then aluminum causeing expansion that will help in extracting your bolt, using visegrips.

Buy yourself a stud remover from any automotive store. Should be cheap, >$10, hooks onto a regular 1/2' or 3/8' drive ratchet and gets a grip on the stud and loosens it using the torque of the ratchet.

Should look like this

Soak the stud with Kroil for 2 or 3 days and it should unscrew with no difficulty. I have used Kroil on stuck nuts & bolts with amazing results. Ed

can you tap on the end of the bolt. It helps to hammer on it a few times.
