Pulling baffle out? was created by likes2gofast2009

I was told its a vance and hines pipe, I can't figure out how to get the baffle out...Anyone have any ideas? I pulled the one screw that goes through the pipe and baffle, but it won't budge...

they get in there pretty good after time...if you do get it out you may have to bang it up to put er back in...if your pipe is in good shape???go slow....try tapping with a rubber mallet and a bath towel to deaden the mallet.....tap it in circles around and up to about two nfeet up...if your lucky and it is a two peice you can pull the can and use the mallet and a wood insert...it can dent easy and quick though...if it is not a two peice you can try a hooked peice of metal in a t handle and tap while pulling onj the core...good luck....doesn't look like a vance and hines to me but that pic could be better......peace

They do get stuck in there good! hahah.

man, mine aint a vance and hiens but it was a bitch to pull out! I ended up disconnecting it where the header connects to the tail pipe then pounding it out from the other direction with a piece of tubing.

I agree with the other guys though, try that and if you cant get it out then.......

good luck, these inline fours are gnarly loud sounding without the baffle. ;)

It's rusted itself to the inside of the can. My Mac muffler has the same problem. You might try taking it off the header andhosing the insides with penetrating oil like Kroil or PB Blaster.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I pulled the pipe off, its separate from the header itself, and tried pounding it out but gave up due to the 90 degree weather and 50% humidity... I'll give it another try on a rainy day.
