Hello to all. This is my first post.so I ask for your patience on this matter. I have a 1983 gpz 1100.I am staying busy making road worthy. My question is what size is the bolt, that fastens thestarter clutch and the outter stator assembly ,to the crank shaft.Mines was not there,or it was swollowed by the engine,i've dropped the oil pan but it was not there. your help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Looking at my shop manual on my 82 GPZ1100 B2 model I see the Alternator Rotor Bolt listed as a 12 X 1.25 X 40MM bolt torqued to 94 FOOT POUNDS.

I'd suggest using a good spray degreaser on the replacement bolt and in the hole to throughly clean it, and then use some good Blue Loctite or similar thread locking compound on the threads(just a drop or two is needed).

Don't use any of the RED Loctite as it will require at least 300 F to loosen it's grip, far more than the magnetic rotor can stand.

Holding the Alternator Stator to the inside of the left engine cover is three 6 x 1.0 x 30 Allen head bolts torqued to 87 INCH POUNDS.

Any other questions I can help with?
