Exhaust question was created by kawasakibikefan
What kind of exhaust do I have?
I always wanted to know. I think it has been repainted but not sure.

The 4 headers are one unit and the back is one. I guess this means it is only 2 pieces. Never had baffles out, is that what you are including in the 5?

Years ago, DENCO sold an aftermarket 4>1 left exit exhaust system for the Z1. The ones I remember were chrome.
There may have been a couple of others besides Denco, but I don't recall off-hand.
Good Luck!

I think Denco sounds familiar. When I talked to people who used to own them, that is what they think it is. I will try to get a closer picture tonight. Like I said I am not sure it has been repainted but it very well could have been.

That is a Denco tri-cone exhaust. Left turns are a bitch on a lowered bike, with that exhaust. See how the tail peice, has three different cones, welded together. That is a very hard exhaust pipe to find these days. I havn't been able to find a picture, on the net, yet! That pipe has a sound all it's own, not like a kerker, VHR, Mac or any of the rest. That exhaust has small tubes and will make a stock or smaller bore motor, run like the wind. It is damn good, bolt on power. In my opinion, I would take it any day of the week, over a Kerker. This pipe doesn't run very good, without a baffle.
The other Denco pipe has a stright tail peice, it is called a Mono-cone exhaust. I like this one the best, a lot of ground clearance. Good performance without a baffle!
