1 over pistons still available for kz650? was created by anarki650
I found NOS sets of 1 over piston rings on ebay really cheap ($25 for the set). Just curious if anyone here knows whether 1 over pistons are available without costing an arm and a leg anywhere? Anyone? The Wiseco 700 kit is $700...would like to find something less expensive than that if possible to get my 650 motor strong again...

I remember reading Kawi stll sells new rings for the 650 for about $40/set ballpark, so they probably sell the pistons. Babbittsonline.com will show them and discount the price.
EDIT: I checked, the pistons are about $53 each.

I thought you did not want to go threw the expense of boring out the cylinders? You should just go to the 700 kit than. You will have to buy the gaskets anyway. So spend the $590 total for the kit and do it right.

After pondering the situation a bit I came to the conclusion that a used motor is likely to be just as much work down the road, so I might as well do this one right...which means she's going to sit on the back burner for a bit until finances improve (I'm going into my first year of teaching and haven't had anything in the way of a regular paycheck in about 2 years now...)
Now I'm looking at options between going MaKaw and shelling out about $400, or spending a couple hundy more and getting the extra cc's and compression out of the Wiseco kit...
