kz200 project

hello i just bought a 78 kz200 engine for twenty dollars i dont really know anything about engines so i apologize for my ignorance my question is what would be my first step to getting this thing going guy that sold it to me said it has good compression and turns over

The first thing i would do man is try to find a shop repair manual on it. and go by that, you can usually find some stuff online.

But if you cant find one, start by just giving it a good cleaning, so you can see what your workin with. drain the oil, put new in. change the plugs small stuff like that.

Do you have the wiering harness?

and what are your plans for the engine?
