Spectre 750 Cams (and maybe whole bike) was created by Yojymbo!
I found an 82 spectre 750 overgrown with ivy and no heads, the pistons are rusted to the cylinders (too bad it was bored over), the rest of the main bike is there (no seat or covers but it's a roller. I was reading that the Spectre is a fairly rare bike and had cams comperable to the GPZ. He offered em to me for a ten spot, I could not find specs on the cam just that it was comperable to the GPZ but somehow slower than the stock 750 which made no sense. They did look chunkier though and had very thick casting at the sprocket with a #4 stamped on it, looking much rougher than the stock 650s I pulled out.
Possible aftermarket? In anycase would the Spectre be a good hookup, I could get the complete roller for probably a hundred or 2. My real question is about the cams though.

You can go to Kawasaki.com and look up bikes that shared parts, like this.

I found that your 82 Spectre cams went on these bikes:

So they are equivilent to GPZ cams. I read that the heads were the same but lacked the extra porting GPZs got. In anycase I can pick up the head and cams for $40 or maybe less so I'm doing it. Now whether to take advantage of the well flowing 750 heads or pirate the valves for my 650 head...

The 82 gpz cams are not the same as 83-85. 83 and on came with more aggressive cams and from my understanding a better flowing head. However, with the 750 crank you should be able to run the newer cam chain if you can't already.

great info. I'm having trouble finding where on Kawasaki.com you found this. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
