'82 KZ750 LTD piston ring help

hey everyone,
i'm looking to replace a set of piston rings on my '82 kz750 ltd...i just saw the other night that one of the rings is actually missing about a 1" section of it. anyways,is there only one standard size ring for this motor? (its an inline 4). also i lightly honed the cylinders too, how much difference does this make? lastly i have been having a hard time finding a set of rings too...any recommendable sites out there?

any help would be much appreciated...i'm obviously still trying to figure all this out!

I have the 750 twin which (thank God) has new pistons and rings readily available at low prices. The 750 fours are not so, and ebay does sell rings from time to time but they are pricey. You could try babbittsonline.com to see if they can order them new from kawi.

I don't know if your hone did much to size, but depending on mileage, the cylinders may have wear. You have to measure them to see how much. Mine had serious wear at 70k miles.

That's actually cheaper than I thought they would be. No guarantee Kawi still sells them, but maybe.

Z1 carries a lot of stuff which they do not list on the website.

The last time I placed an order (last month), they said they were in the process of updating the site.

Best bet is to give them a call......

thanks all...i actually was able to find one at a local shop...prolly a little more expensive but less wait time. we'll see how it goes!
