It's still an active part so any dealer should be able to order it in for you. Ed

And I'm assume you just pick the old seal out, clean the area, and push the new seal in just like on an XS650?

(Never had to do one on a KZ. ;))

I haven't done that particular seal, but the ones I have done I did as you describe. Also, I would put a very light film of oil on the outer edge of the new seal to help it slide into place and put little oil on the inner edge before intalling the shaft. Ed

FWIW if anyone else is looking for this, it's a current part as it's used on all the KDX's and KX's... part number 92049-012.

Price at my local dealership?

$6.00. :D

babbittsonline.com got me actual kawi parts for about 30 - 40% less than the dealer. It takes a few days longer because they order it from Kawi then ship it to you, but it is cheaper than the dealer by a long shot.

You have a nice dealer. The local dealer here charges $10 for small O rings.... that's $10 EACH. You are not going to get a seal for under $20 from the gougers around here.

My local dealer charges a bit more than online guys too but not too bad. Example, Ron Ayers (see Ayers ) wants $4.34 for part #92049-012. My dealer would want about $6 (he's generally about 40% higher than Ayers) If I was buying a bunch of other stuff with it the savings would more than cover the shipping cost of arouund $7, and if I'm buying more than $100 worth sometimes Ayers shipping is free. But when I'm buying just 1 or 2 little items the local dealer costs less because there's no shipping charge plus I usually can get the part in about 3 days. Hopefully caffcruiser's local dealer isn't too much of a bandit. Ed
