Gotta do a top end work over on my 83 KZ750F. Need a valve job and maybe guides. I need to find a good shop in the Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Colorado area. Any opinions from you guys? There are a couple of big dealers in the area, but they aren't really interested in working on mine. I am sorta on a budget, but understand I will have to pay for good work. The guy I bought my bike from owns a place called Front Range Motorcycle Repair or something like that, anybody ever heard of him? This bike needs to be on the road and outta my garage! Any input is appreciated.

End of story, you don't get much better than this....

Larry is a straight up guy, does phenomenal work (true craftsman) and his prices are comparable or cheaper than I have found in my research for my KZ... ;)

I have massive leakdown on cylinder 2 through the intake and exhuast valves, some leak down on cylinder 3 intake valve, and semi low squeeze on 1 & 4. Compression check was done cold with a touch of oil in the cylinders. Leakdown test done eith the cams removed, so I know there is no chance of a cam holding slightly open. I am a car mechanic and usually send my car stuff to Geddes Machine here in Colorado Springs. I called them and they said they do motorcycle work as well, so I might just go through them. Still looking for a Bike Machine shop though if anybody has any local suggestions.

Thanks, Justin

I can't advise you strongly enough to not let automotive machine shops work on your head, regardless of what they tell you.

Because they are not precision enough.

All the forums have horror stories about guys doing that.

I can tell you how many of those we have had to fix. I am sure Larry has too.
